The presentation of the project “AN INDEPENDENT COUNTRY” in Baku, Azerbaijan

The presentation of the psycho-pedagogical project “An independent country”, organized by the International Antidrug Federation (IAF) was held in Baku on December 20th, 2019 at JW Marriott Hotel Absheron. The following persons attended the event: Leyla ALIYEVA – Vice-President of the “Heydar Aliyev” Foundation from Azerbaijan, Emin AGALAROV – Vice-President of the company “Crocus Group”, singer, author and composer from Azerbaijan, Nikita LUSNICOV – President of the National Union Against Drugs from the Russian Federation, Sakit MAMMADOV – Painter, member of the Union of Fine Artsof Azerbaijan, Natalia ZENTOVA – Doctor of Psychology, General Director of the Moscow Scientific and Practical Center for Mental Health from Moscow, Russian Federation, Firudin GURBANOV – Vice-Minister of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Dmitrii LEVINCOV – Head Physician of the Narcology Center, Russian Federation, Solmaz AMANOVA – writer of children’s books, from Azerbaijan, Mircea GRECU – President of the International Information and Prevention Center for Addictions from the Republic of Moldova, other representatives of authorities and civil society from the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Moldova.

The main goal of this project is the prevention of problem behaviors in pre-school and primary school age children through the use of therapeutic fairytales: “A story about lost happiness” (antidrug fairytale), “Sneaker and Slipper” (computer games addiction prevention fairytale), “Marmi the Bear” (personal boundaries development fairytale), “The Fearsome Ogre” (a fear-prevention fairytale) and “Detective story” (aggressive behavior correction fairytale), written by Mircea Grecu and Jana Grecu.

During the discussion, Mr. Firudin GURBANOV, the Vice-Minister of Education, gave assurance that he will support the implementation of the project in the Republic of Azerbaijan. In the period between September 2015 – November 2019, almost 29000 children from 300 education institutions from Chisinau, Causeni, Balti, Edinet, Briceni, Comrat, Tiraspol (Republic of Moldova), Sankt-Petersburg, Krasnodar (Russian Federation), Bucharest, Suceava (Romania) and Lvov (Ukraine) participated in the international project “An independent country”.
